- 02

Create a free account or sign in; the extension picks it up from the website.
- 03
Select any text
The BeqSpark player appears next to it. Press play, or pick an action.
02Permissions
What BeqSpark asks your browser for.
Every permission, and why it's needed. Nothing from the pages you read leaves your browser until you run an action, and then only what that action needs.
- Run on the websites you visit
- So the player can appear when you select text. Chrome describes this as reading and changing data on all websites. BeqSpark only looks at what you select, and sends nothing from the page until you run an action.
- The tab you use it on
- Lets the toolbar button and shortcuts act on the current tab only (activeTab).
- Play audio and record practice
- An offscreen page plays voices and, only when you choose to practise, records your microphone.
- Store settings and saved words
- Your preferences and word list are kept in the browser (storage).
- Reminders
- Schedules and shows review reminders for words that are due, if you turn them on (alarms, notifications).
- Right-click menu
- Adds BeqSpark's actions to the menu when you right-click selected text (contextMenus).
- Stay signed in
- Reads the sign-in cookie of BeqSpark's own website, so you don't sign in twice (cookies).
- Talk to BeqSpark's servers
- Connects only to BeqSpark's own servers and its sign-in service; never to other websites.
